IT’S COFFEE O’CLOCK AT JACK’S

Jacks Coffee Shop and Giftware in Fintona, County Tyrone

JACK’S COFFEE SHOP & GIFTWARE

I don’t know about you, but in the Callaghan household, Daddy (speaking about myself as the third person) doesn’t really come alive until he has had his coffee fix in the morning.  If it’s coffee, Daddy is happy!  I’m probably at my happiest with Americano, filtered, espresso, cappuccino….basically, any kind of coffee with caffeine; as long as it’s not flavoured with any kind of syrup, not for me, no sir-ee!  As the only coffee drinker in our house, it’s very difficult to get ‘er indoors to come out to a coffee shop, even Jack’s, but normally the promise of a bun will do the trick, sort of like dangling a carrot in front of a donkey.

QUAINT AND QUIRKY

We are really fortunate to live local to a fantastic gem of a place, Jack’s Coffee Shop and Giftware which is located in Fintona, County Tyrone.  Outside, you’d hardly notice the existence of Jack’s as the entrance fades into insignificance next to the large supermarket situated next door, but once inside this little tardis, you see just how well the space is utilised.

Jack’s is laid out really well without being cramped, and there’s a decent amount of seating available for visitors; bench seats, sofas and vintage style armchairs.  The interior styling is distinctively vintage with quirky wall decorations; a partial staircase, half a table and chairs, a rustic bicycle with flower basket, umbrellas hanging like chandeliers…delightful and as I say, quite quirky.

CRAFTS, GIFTS AND GOODIES

Upon entering Jack’s you can’t help but notice they offer a huge selection of Giftware to cater for every need and every budget.  We particularly liked the detailed soft cushions that are displayed on a stylish chaise longue.  The cushions come in a variety of colours, designs and shapes.  But don’t worry if cushions aren’t your thing, you won’t be disappointed with the extensive range of ornaments, wall plaques, candles, plates and much more that is on offer at Jack’s Coffee Shop & Giftware.

SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST

The great thing about Jack’s is that it feels really homely. The staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful should you need to discuss dietary requirements.  Jack’s is the kind of place you can take your time to sit, chat with friends and have a great feed, or, you can just pop in, grab a coffee and a bun and take it away with you.

The food selection at Jack’s is ample with homemade food to suit every palette.  Savoury pies, delicious paninis, fresh green salads, lush sweet treats, it’s all available and always tasty.  In all honesty, the HUGE meringue is by far one of the tastiest we have ever tried, but don’t take our word for it, pop along to Jack’s and try it for yourself.

LOCAL TO ALL

Jack’s is our local go-to coffee shop at the moment and is just a short journey away.  During our last visit, Matilda (age 3) had ordered her food only to spy a delicious looking pink frosted doughnut just as her food order was placed on the table.  Food pushed aside and her negotiating began, ‘Mummy, I promise if I get the doughnut I will eat my dinner after, pleeeeeeease’.  It’s so hard to resist her cheeky little charm.  Doughnut purchased and true to her word, she ate the doughnut followed by her dinner, a little topsy-turvy but hey-ho, sometimes needs must and the last thing Jack’s quiet and quaint little coffee shop needed was a tantrum from our 3 year old!
